We use a pippette tip and push a plastic - or rubber tube with its
end wrapped with a small sheet
of 40μm mesh into the tip. If we use artifical machine vacuum then we
put a small stopper of cotton wool
in the end of the tube too, to reduce the vacuum pressure.
Here I used a common straw and I just suck with the
mouth.
Modern laboratories have vacuum installed and the vacuum
pressure can be regulated on a tap.
